Photography is a field where unique visions or extraordinary collaborations coexist. In the realm of shared vision—Leonardo and Paolo’s distinctive stylistic trait—a deeper, more complex visual language emerges.

Le Officine Fotografiche

Leonardo has been passionate about photography since his youth. He attended professional courses, worked as an apprentice, and organized photo shoots, often alongside his friend Paolo, whom he met in school. From the beginning, the two shared the dream of turning photography into their profession: sometimes individually, sometimes together, they sought every opportunity to practice and improve.

Leonardo moved to Milan in the early ’90s, drawn to a city that was, at the time, a hub for high-level photography. He worked as a simple assistant at the Superstudio of Fabrizio Ferri, a creative space frequented by major figures in international photography such as Annie Leibovitz, Steven Meisel, Oliviero Toscani, and other masters of fashion photography.

Meanwhile, Paolo continued his training working as an assistant in a photography studio in Florence, where he developed strong technical skills and a personal aesthetic sensitivity.

This is how they both became professional photographers, able to move seamlessly from fashion to food, from portrait to architecture—with the same technical mastery and visual sensitivity. Their visual language is the mature result of this dual professional evolution, which finds its synthesis and expression in their shared approach.

Their studio is not just a creative space but a true workshop of photography: this is how the Officine Fotografiche were born, founded in 1995.

The output of Le Officine Fotografiche is constant and full of inspiration. Not just fashion, but also food, portraiture, interior photography, and much more. A creativity that seems inexhaustible, combined with exceptional technical skills.

As in a factory, each project is the result of diverse skills brought together with precision and enthusiasm.

Tireless, beyond their work in the fashion field, over the years they have created exhibitions and publications that showcase the depth of their vision and the consistency of their aesthetic, including Ventifacce (1998), black and white portraits with Gianluca Gori; Tra le righe (2002), a reportage in the world of books; Firenze, do you still breathe? (2003), portraits for the interview-book by Alessia di Marco; Stay for dinner (2006), still-life inspired by Daniel Spoerri; Solimai – Two years of generosity (2018), a reportage on the Montedomini association, also exhibited in Palazzo Vecchio in the presence of President Mattarella; 20-Year-Old Speeches (2019), portraits of young people under 20 inspired by Pasolini; and In Your Eyes, the Face of Montedomini (2024), again at Palazzo Vecchio.

They have worked for years with major national and international fashion and advertising brands: Ferragamo, Biasia, Gherardini, Gianni Chiarini, Ottodame, Cafè Noir, Nomination, UnoAerre, Cinelli, Mercato Centrale, Human Company, and others.
Among their most recognized collaborations are the numerous images created for Drusilla Foer, published in Vanity Fair and other magazines.

Le Officine Fotografiche recently celebrated 30 years of activity. A studio in constant evolution, able to handle studio and on-location shoots, still-life, portraits, and video—with a natural inclination for teamwork and attention to detail, in synergy with art directors, stylists, makeup artists, and models.

[Only beautiful, powerful, and accessible images.]

Fashion photography thrives on provocation: queer themes, sexual ambiguity, exaggerated poses, or expressions of pain and unease. As if the images were an access code to a visual and social elite.

Leonardo and Paolo’s images are instead only beautiful, powerful, and accessible. They speak to the hearts of a wide audience, with formal elegance and strong communicative power.

Their photographs don’t profile, they amplify: they enhance brand identity and capture attention with the seductive power of perfection. Each shot becomes iconic, recognizable, memorable.
